Good Afternoon Cherie,

The short term answer is to do a quality cleanse with a product like Standard Process' "Purification Program".
This is a nutritional based weight loss program of 3 weeks duration which has been very effective for many of my patients.

The long term solution is to learn to enjoy food that is beneficial and healthy for you in moderate amounts, as part of a healthy lifestyle that
includes 30-45 minutes of exercise 3-4 days per week.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say "enjoy food" so I wont go into anymore detail than the above. If you have specific questions
you would like to ask, you can call my office to set up a free consultation or message me directly at scott@drvillines.com.

I wish you luck in reaching you health goals,

Dr. Villines

I would like to lose about 10 lbs, but I still want to enjoy food. What do you suggest.

Good morning Debbie,

I do treat patients with fibromyalgia. Most of my treatment consists of chiropractic adjustments, nutritional recommendations and acupuncture.
Although I perform soft tissue work (which includes strain/counter strain techniques) it is an adjunct therapy such as intersegmental traction and muscle stimulation and not the primary form of my care.

I hope this answers your question about my office.
Thank you for the post and good luck in finding exactly the type of provider you are looking for.

Do you treat fibromyalgia? I doesn't appear that you do. I am looking for someone with kinesiology training, using strain/counter strain techniques. Also, muscle balancing.

Thanks,
Debbie

Thank you for your questions Brian,

Typically I use very low force techniques anywhere in the body. The type of treatment is based upon the individual patient
with respect to their preferences and physical condition. The standard types of treatment are prone diversified, standard diversified, Gonstead, and activator adjusting. It all depends on the patient.

X-rays can play an important part in identifying underlying conditions or complicating features. The use of x-rays depends on the history given by the patient and the presenting symptoms. Quality x-rays can be a good indicator of how long it will take to correct (if possible) the underlying condition that is causing the symptoms and to help rule out or identify conditions that are outside my scope of practice.

I hope this answers your questions. Good luck on your search.

What type of adjustment technique do you use to correct sublaxations (esp. in the neck)?
What role does taking X-rays play in planning or verifying treatment?
(am looking for a chiropractor after a relocation)
Thanks

Thank you for the question Mellisa.
Acupuncture can produce amazing benefits with all sorts of health conditions including digestive disorders. Nothing is a silver bullet however. Many patients and associates of mine have reported an excellent response from acupuncture for digestive problems. In fact, due to the results my patients and associates have gotten from acupuncture, I decided to begin an acupuncture certification course. The training and certification is a lengthy process, but my hope is to be able to offer acupunture in my office by the end of 2009.

My family is excited to be visiting your office soon. We are hoping to learn much more about staying healthy. What are your thoughts on accupuncture? Do you think it could help with digestive problems?

Respectfully Yours,
Mellisa
